From the Center Director
Where do companies go to find high potential talent for career placement in fashion, buying, business management or sales? Where to find the strategic thinkers needed to fill career opportunities in ecommerce, logistics, visual merchandising or product development? The search for talent should begin with the University of Arizona’s Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing.
Our outstanding Retailing and Consumer Sciences faculty is focused on developing the next generation of retailing leaders. A challenging curriculum introduces students to the retailing industry and develops critical thinking skills and understanding of retail strategy, from production to consumption. Rigorous coursework is combined with experiential learning through internships so students learn the “soft skills” - leadership, teamwork and communication - necessary to be successful. We also offer both our undergraduates and graduate students the opportunity to engage our corporate partners in real world applied research projects through the Applied Consumer Research Experience (ACRE).
These career, networking and leadership experiences, complemented by a comprehensive retailing curriculum, result in outstanding placement of our graduates. They are in great demand by the 30 corporate partners in the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing, as evidence by our 80% + placement rate. If your company is searching for future retail leaders, please join us as a partner in the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing.
