Bio
My name is Leah Scherotter and I am a Senior in the Retailing and Consumer Sciences major. My choice of Retailing as my major was an easy one for me because I am passionate about the field of retail, and I thrive in an interactive and ever-changing work environment. Also, I feel this major provides the ultimate preparation for reaching my goal of working for a large corporate retailer.
As I begin my sixth semester on the board, I am serving as Chair. As I assume this challenging position, I hope to focus on fostering the leadership and development of our members, and promoting a heightened awareness of the Student Advisory Board and the Retail and Consumer Sciences Major on and off campus. I also serve as the liaison between the students in the Retailing school and three of our corporate partners, Nordstrom, Gap Inc., and Gordon Brothers LLC. In this role, I have created important relationships with the recruiters and executives of each of these companies, and am looking forward to their active involvement with the school this semester.
This year, I also hope to focus on increasing our recruitment and outreach efforts, as our Retailing program becomes increasingly well-known across the nation. I am excited about my future career in retail, as I will be working at Gap Inc.'s corporate offices in San Francisco after my graduation. Overall, I cannot stress the countless industry opportunities that are available for myself and all retail majors alike in this program.
