Tom Redd leads the Strategic communications team for SAP Retail. This team focuses on assisting with analyst relations, PR, and internal retail industry communications. Additionally, the team supports retail events and assists with the creative elements of retail industry communications.
Mr. Redd began his career with NCR. His role at NCR involved the design, development, and deployment of NCR 1800 Series – NCR’s first non-financial ATMs. These were the first self-serve airline check-in terminals.
In the mid-80s Mr. Redd was very involved in the “soft” or “programmable” point-of-sale (POS) terminal space. He was a co-founder of MarketPlace Systems Group which was later acquired by NSB. In 1989 he joined 54 North (Comshare Retail) and was instrumental in the creation, marketing, and sale of ARTHUR Merchandise Planning.
Mr. Redd has assisted software companies such has Oracle, Silvon, Retek, Reflexis, and Khimetrics (which later was acquire by SAP) with their marketing/communications programs.
His passion continues to revolve around crafting the communications and image management necessary to create unparalleled software and services value for today’s fast changing retailers.
Redd graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and focus areas in Information Systems. His personal interests include home improvement, motorcycles, and technology. He lives with his wife, four millenials (kids), and three dogs in Scottsdale, AZ.
