Hello, my name is Oriana Gamboa and I am currently a junior studying Retailing and Consumer Sciences at the University of Arizona with minors in Spanish and Sports Management. It is currently my second semester serving as an ambassador on the Student Advisory Board. Coming from a small town in Arizona, I knew I wanted to be apart of a close knit program the second I stepped foot on this campus. The Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing fulfilled that desire as I noticed instantly that the faculty and staff here worked closely with their students and genuinely cared about each individual’s success. Fast forward six semesters later, this retailing program has given me the opportunity to network and build lasting relationships with amazing faculty and students through various professional development workshops.
My goal as an ambassador this semester is to guide and educate students that were once in my shoes and help ignite their passions as they move along in the Retailing & Consumer Sciences major. I could not be any more excited to continue my college career with this fantastic program and see what doors open up as I proceed into this major.
This summer I look forward to furthering my growth as a merchandising intern at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. This is more than a dream come true and I can not thank the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing enough for allowing me to follow my dreams and pursue this once in a lifetime opportunity.
