I am extremely honored to have been elected to be a part of the Terry J. Lundgren Center’s (TJLC) Student Advisory Board. I am currently a Senior here at the University of Arizona pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Retailing and Consumer Sciences, with a minor in Fashion Retailing. With this being my second semester on the Board, I am very excited to be in direct contact with our corporate partners connecting students with the many prestigious companies that work directly with the TJLC. I also look forward to supporting and encouraging additional campus involvement among students and companies alike. On the board, I will be assisting with the TJLC student snack bar while helping to raise money for student scholarships.
Aside from the Retailing College, I am also a student athlete on the Track and Field team here at the U of A, in which I specialize in the pole vault. In addition, I have been an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Club associated with UA athletics since Spring 2014. I am currently serving my fourth semester as an FCA student leader, which has also opened the doors for me to help out at an FCA camp over the summer of 2015 advising and coaching several high school track and field athletes.
After perusing schools based not only on my athletic aspirations but also in unison with my love of fashion and retailing, I was blown away by the University of Arizona’s Retailing program. The curriculum and opportunities offered within the Retailing program and Terry J. Lundgren Center for retailing has provided me with extensive knowledge thus far of the many fields of study within retail. It has broadened my horizons as well my appreciation for both the creative and analytical sides of retailing combined.
Thanks to the help, support and guidance of the Student Advisory Board, the TJLC as well as the faculty in the retailing program I am proud to announce that this past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to work as an Associate Merchandising Intern for Nike. As a student Ambassador for the Terry J. Lundgren Center for retailing I hope to help students in the same way SAB has helped me in obtaining the internship of their dreams. I look forward to a great semester serving along side my fellow ambassadors.
