The Brand Storm on April 4th is an exciting competition aimed at fostering innovative thinking about brands and how they compete in the modern marketplace. Today’s brands are doing all they can to learn about the behaviors and preferences of Gen Z consumers—BrandStorm is your opportunity to demonstrate your expertise! When the specific prompt gets revealed at 12:30, teams will have four hours to develop their most creative solution to the challenge. They will then pitch it to a panel of industry judges, who will give feedback and choose the winners. Your team could earn a share of $6000 in total prizes!
The competition is open to teams of three or four University of Arizona undergraduate students. You can recruit your own team, or you can sign up as an individual and the organizers will place you on a team.
The winning team will split a prize of $2,400, and the two runners up will split $1,200 each. In addition to the top prizes, there are three $400 prizes that will be awarded to teams that didn’t make the top three but still produced interesting ideas or exhibited strong presentation skills.
THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS FRIDAY, MARCH 28.
About the Challenge
The specifics of the challenge will be revealed at the BrandStorm kick-off on Friday April 4 at 12:30 pm. Teams must be checked in and present at the kick-off to participate. After the challenge gets explained, your team will have four hours on Friday to develop your solution and prepare a six-slide presentation. Your team will be assigned a space in McClelland Park where you can work.
Faculty and industry mentors will work with you during the competition to help you refine your ideas and build a strong presentation.
At 5:00 pm, the judging begins. In the first round, each team will present their work to two different panels of judges. The teams that earn the top three scores will move on to the final round, where a different set of judges will choose the winning team.

Rules and Guidelines
This is a team competition. The competition is limited to 20 teams. All team members must be present during the competition on Friday, 4/4/2025, 12:30-6:00 pm.
Team Composition and Requirements
Teams must have three or four full-time undergraduate students who are currently enrolled at the University of Arizona. Students may be from any major or academic program. All team members must have an active UANet ID and UA email address to register and participate in this competition.
Registration Deadline
Team member names and UArizona email addresses must be provided during registration. Once 20 qualified teams have registered, registration will be closed. The last possible day for team registration is 3/28/2025. Team members cannot be added after registration is submitted.
Awards
- First place: $2,400
- Two runners up: $1,200 each
- Additional prizes will also be awarded by the competition organizers. All prizes will be distributed equally among team members.
