Pop-Ups with Purpose – Spring 2025 Internships

The Pop-Ups with Purpose program offers four internship roles for students interested in marketing, events, retail, and consumer experience. Each intern will support hands-on pop-up retail events throughout the semester and work closely with the TJLC team, student vendors, and campus partners.

1. Marketing & Social Media Intern

Key Responsibilities

  • Create content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and the TJLC website.
  • Design short videos, graphics, captions, and promotional materials.
  • Manage a simple weekly posting schedule.
  • Capture and post real-time content during events.
  • Highlight student vendors, products, and event features.
  • Support email marketing and campus outreach efforts.

2. Event Operations & Vendor Coordination Intern

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning event logistics, schedules, and checklists.
  • Coordinate with student vendors on products, booth needs, and set-up.
  • Help with layout maps, equipment, and event-day prep.
  • Manage vendor check-in, setup, and breakdown.
  • Troubleshoot minor event issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Track attendance and gather quick vendor feedback.

3. Merchandising & Visual Display Intern

Key Responsibilities

  • Help design visual concepts and display ideas for each pop-up.
  • Support vendors with product arrangement, pricing visibility, and signage.
  • Set up tables, fixtures, décor, and overall event aesthetics.
  • Keep displays organized and visually appealing during events.
  • Assist with merchandising-focused photos and content.
  • Observe customer flow and suggest improvements.

4. Insights & Retail Analytics Intern

Key Responsibilities

  • Track attendance, foot traffic, and vendor-reported sales.
  • Maintain simple spreadsheets or dashboards with event insights.
  • Identify basic trends in student shopping behavior.
  • Create short post-event recap summaries.
  • Support donor or partner presentations with simple charts or findings.
  • Research ideas and benchmarks to improve future events.

Stipend:
Selected interns will receive a $500 stipend upon successful completion of the program.

Academic Credit:

Students who wish to receive academic credit must enroll in the internship class.
