Leah Scherotter graduated from the Retail and Consumer Sciences program in 2008 with a Minor in Business Administration and Consumer Theory. During her time as an RCSC Major, Leah served as Chair of the Terry J. Lundgren Student Advisory Board, and was passionate about spreading awareness of the UA Retail Major across campus and throughout the retail industry. Between her Junior and Senior year, Leah completed a Summer internship in Merchandising at Gap Inc. in San Francisco, where she helped to drive the Old Navy Men’s Denim business and product strategies. Because of the incredible experience she had with Gap Inc. and in the city of SF, she applied and was accepted into the Gap Inc. Retail Management Training program, a 9 month intensive training program which commenced following her college graduation. Upon completion of the program, she had received experience in Inventory Management, Production and Merchandising, and in 2009 began her full time role with Old Navy Men’s as an Assistant Merchant. Following this experience, Leah moved to Girl’s Merchandising to run their Knits, Sweaters and Graphics business, which gave her strong experience in a new gender, age group and product category. With International expansion rapidly arising at Old Navy, Leah decided to dive into International merchandising and helped to launch the first Old Navy China store in March of 2014, which was truly an exciting and unique experience! She continues to drive the Old Navy China business as Senior Merchant of Kids and Baby Divisions. She is grateful to be an RCSC alum, as she attributes much of her business etiquette, managing skills and leadership qualities to the training she received while in the Retail major.
Update 2017 - I'm now in San Diego after my 8 year career at Gap corporate, and have been running my own business for the past 2.5 years. Based on my own health journey in my 20's, I launched Good Life, out to support making healthy living more accessible for the busy woman. I also opened an online clean beauty boutique about 2 years ago, and now, due to it's success, I am excited to be opening a brick and mortar store in San Diego Fall 2017!
