"Looking back, I truly feel that TREND is where I came into my own as a leader. At 22, I’m already in my second corporate role with direct reports, and while I held leadership positions before, TREND gave me the most meaningful real‑world, applicable experience during college. I’ve always believed that while coursework matters, experiential learning is what shapes you — not just what you know, but how you communicate it, execute it, and apply it to your own strengths.
TREND also surrounded me with motivated, talented people across disciplines. It taught me that effective leadership isn’t about doing everything yourself, but about recognizing and empowering people who excel in areas you don’t!" - Lauren Nachman, Sports Merchandise Buyer, Class 2025
"The Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing shaped my career in ways I didn't expect. The close-knit community and networking opportunities connected me with professionals and alumni who helped me find my path.
Attending the NRF Student Program in NYC introduced me to UNIQLO and changed everything. Connect with alumni early and listen to their stories." - Sejal Khangura, Class of 2025.
"I’m starting a new role at Mister Carwash in their corporate office as a Financial Analyst. The TJL Center for Retailing helped me with professional development and, most importantly, with Networking! Its impact was very significant as it opened the opportunity for me to pursue my Master's in Business Analytics and to find a
Full-Time opportunity post-grad. My word of advice: always network and advocate for yourself, because you never know who you’re meeting and what impact they can have on your career. Always get involved because it opens opportunities that you would otherwise miss; you never know what one activity will lead you to. You always miss those chances you don’t take. - Nicole Gil-Lopez, Financial Analyst at Mister Car Wash, Class of 2025
